Ohhh is that the leggy Amber Le Bon I see on the Mark Fast catwalk? Yes. Ohhh is the raven haired plus-size model Crystal Wrenn in one of Mark’s sought after slinky dinky cobwebby figure hugging bodycon mini dresses in a deep edible red? Yes.
It’s colour again – think orange, fuschia and a dash of khaki – on the London catwalks. It’s also a designer who is showing clothes that can be worn on all types of body shapes, as he did last season. The opulence of Marie-Antoinette must be playing on everyone’s mind because the queen of bold graphic jewellery print Mary Katrantzou, had a fabulous collection of exotic jewel inspired print dresses and blouses. As I mentioned yesterday, London Fashion Week seems to be all about ‘best friends’ this season. And oh the excitement of going to a Henry Holland, House of Holland, show always starts with the invitation – a mad print bandana this season…. which I don’t think I actually saw anyone wearing. His best friend Agy Deyn sat front row with of all people GMTV’s Lorraine Kelly. His famous slogan print t-shirts now had acronyms too rude to mention on them, and were teemed with mad pastel print fabric dresses and skirts. Prints, prints and more prints and I thought London was going to be all sludgy and grey.
This Chanel-meets sodapop girl mood continued in the comfort of Burlington Arcade which served as the PPQ catwalk graced by Sodapop-It girls Daisy Lowe and Pixie Geldoff.
