Clothing at Tesco loves Sticky Fingers

By Reena Rai in Clothing at Tesco loves on Friday 30th July, 2010

Firstly, we think that this is a great name for a mummy blog, which is one of the reasons why we just had to read it to begin with! Once we read the “About” page, we were hooked.

Tara is the fabulous mum behind the blog, and she has two beautiful kids who feature heavily in the blog, from heartwarming posts about the bond her kids share, to her thoughts on what makes the perfect dad and about teaching your kids about food.

The blog is sincere and heartwarming, and you can tell straight away that all the posts come straight from the heart, and from her love of her kids and blogging.

A great read that we would encourage all of our readers to have a look at. If you are on Twitter, you may want to follow her too.

If you know of, or have a blog you think we would enjoy, please let us know in the comments!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Get the Look – Eva Longoria

By Reena Rai in Get the look, Trends, Womenswear on Tuesday 27th July, 2010

As a saucy member of Desperate Housewives, you may know her as Gabby Solis, but she is also a well known member of the fash pack, with a great sense of style.

Here, she is the picture of laid back chic. Combining everyday jeans with a casual jumper, she adds the “wow” factor by finishing off her outfit with a pair of killer bright pink statement heels.

Want to get her look? Well here is how you can steal her style, without having to rob a bank…

So if there is one thing to learn from Eva, it’s that a statement pair of heels can transform an outfit, whether it’s casual or smart. So go on, invest in a pair, we have loads to choose from on the site. And remember, there’s free delivery all this week….

At the moment, we have a great 3 for 2 special on our school wear, with free delivery thrown in! This means you really don’t have any excuse for not stocking up now, and making some great savings.

These are some of the great bargains that can be found this week.

Gola retro Velcro trainers, Boys 3 pack short sleeve shirts, Girls pinafores

We have some great Gola trainers in our Back to School shoes section! Also have a look at our great selection of boys and girls shirts, as well as trousers, pinafores and coats for the colder months. If you are worried about them shooting up over the holidays, then just buy the items a size or two bigger. You can see all our boys and girls items on the site.

But remember to be quick if you want to take advantage of these great deals, they won’t be there forever!

It’s Friday again, and today we bring you Are We Nearly There Yet Mummy?, a hilarious and compelling blog written by Laura. It documents her eventful life trying to establish a peaceful reign over two little ones, a teenager, her husband, her dad, and their canine companion, P’Nut.

The great thing about this blog is that just about any parent can easily relate to each one of Laura’s stories, and her frank and witty writing style will have you hooked as you follow her experiences on the rollercoaster ride of family life.

Our particular favourites are An unfortunate cheese incident…, where she talks about one of the unforeseen pitfalls associated with kids and long car journeys, and Role Reversal, a heart-warming story about her young daughter who decides to read her a bedtime story.

So, grab yourself a cuppa, find a comfy place to sit, and allow Laura to introduce you to her wonderful family.

Toy Story 3 costumes!

By Rochelle Symons in Childrenswear, News on Wednesday 21st July, 2010

One of the most anticipated movies of the year has hit the big screen this week .. yes you guessed it, Toy Story 3! Which means only one thing…lots of wannabe Buzz Lightyear’s and Woody’s running around.

The great thing about this movie is that almost everyone can enjoy it. From those of us who watched the first one many moons ago, to the little ones only just getting their first peek of Andy’s toys.

If your little ones love Buzz and company, then we have some great costumes for them to get into character!

Which character is your child’s favourite?

You buy one, we give one

By Ken Synnott in News on Tuesday 20th July, 2010

Following the success of last years “You buy one, we give one” initiative, we have decided to do it again this year.

This means that when you buy a school uniform from Clothing at Tesco, we will give an equivalent school uniform item to children in need in Kenya, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

How does it work? You can shop for the school range online at Clothing at Tesco, or in over 400 stores around the country. The range includes polo shirts, black trousers and grey pleated skirts. The prices range from £2.50 to £4.50, and not only are you getting a school uniform, but you are also helping out kids in desperate need of basic school uniforms.

Last year 24,000 uniforms were given out to 12,000 children in Kenya, which is where we source many of our school uniforms, so it’s important we give back to the community there.

This year, we have expanded it to include Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, where we hope to distribute over 96,000 uniforms to 50,000 children.

To find out more about this initiative, please visit our site for further details.

Facebook fan’s summer tips!

By Rochelle Symons in News, Top Picks on Monday 19th July, 2010

Last week we shared some summer tips from our Twitter followers on our Facebook page, and we received even more tips from our Facebook fans!

To make things even (we love all of you equally!) we have picked up top 5 best tips, all courtesy of our Facebook fans!

Number 5:

Sarah Potter thinks you should buy a bag for your buggy, and then put all your heavy items in there, shoes, creams etc when you are flying.

Number 4:

This tip is from Vicky Camplin, who says you should buy lots of craft stuff for those rainy days, and days when you can’t afford to take the kids anywhere.

Number 3:

Claire Ferguson recommends doing all your washing at a launderette before coming home from holidays. It means less post-holiday blues, easier to unpack, and no wet beach towel smell!

Number 2:

Tina Millar suggests that you roll your clothes in your suitcase when you are off on holiday, so that you get more in and they crease less!

Number 1:

Nikki Fraser has a tip for all the new mums out there! “Put a sheet of paper on a sealed pack of nappies, and label them up for your destination, then check them in with your suitcase, you don’t have to pay any extra and they don’t get classed in with your luggage allowance!”

Thanks to everyone who sent in a tip, we can see you guys know how to get the most out of summer!
