We have so much fun on our shoots that we thought it’s only fair to give you a sneak peek of what goes on behind the scenes. For our autumn/winter shoot, we were on location in Greenwich, Richmond and sunny Dalston. As you can see, it was fun and smiles all around and our new collection was a favourite with the local deer! Make sure you check out our top picks at the end of the video for our most wanted pieces.

Sneak peek: autumn/winter 2010 photoshoot
By Ken Synnott in Behind the scenes, Top Picks on Tuesday 31st August, 2010Taking you back to school – the final winners
By Rochelle Symons in News on Monday 30th August, 2010Our Facebook competition to win a lifetime supply of school uniforms has now come to an end. Thank you to everyone who entered, we have had a great response and have loved reading about your memories from school.
Not to keep you waiting any longer… our final two winners are:
Jayne Hyman

Jayne’s funniest story was: ‘My funniest memory of school would be dyeing my hair red with a colour mousse when I was about 13. I was careful not to wash much of it out as I wanted the red to be as bright as possible, but on the way to school it rained and I ended with red streaks all over my face and neck! I had to dash to a bathroom to clean up but the red stained my skin and I spent the rest of the day trying to hide my face! I say “funny” memory – it wasn’t then but it makes me chuckle now :)’
Ele Wilson

Ele’s funniest story was: ‘Okay, my ‘funniest’ moment in infant school was also my most embarrassing as you’re about to find out! I was only in my first year, aged 4, when I stepped outside the classroom at playtime and walked towards the railings…without thinking, I placed my head through the railings to get a better view and yes, you’ve guessed it, I got stuck!! Teachers tried in vain to free my head but it wouldn’t budge….next step, the fire brigade!! After about an hour, they managed to pry the bars open and free my poor little head – I was a laughing stock! 3 weeks later I left that school and some 13 years later I met my current partner and when I told him about what had happened to me he asked if I was wearing a pink dress……I WAS! Turns out he was in the year above and could remember the incident well – I still can’t shake the shame lol’
Jayne and Ele congratulations, you have won a lifetimes supply of school uniform*! Please drop us an email, to claim your prize.
Clothing at Tesco loves…Not Supermum!
By Reena Rai in Clothing at Tesco loves on Friday 27th August, 2010This week we’ve been reading the delightful “Not Supermum”, a blog written by an anonymous mother who gives us an accurate insight into her life raising her two daughters, The Teenager and Tall Daughter, as well as their beloved family canine friend, Tess.
This blog is great because you get a real sense of her efforts to ensure that her daughters learn some important values, and you can tell that she always tries her best to be a loving and understanding parent. Our favourite reads included the perfect holiday, where she proves that you can have a brilliant holiday without having to leave the country, and the big momma challenge series, which follows her journey to leading a healthier lifestyle.
We really like Not Supermum’s honest approach to writing her blog, and we hope you think the same. If you are on Twitter, make sure you follow her too!

Schooltastic Satchels
By Reena Rai in Accessorizes, Back To School, Top Picks, Trends on Tuesday 24th August, 2010The end of the school holidays are in sight – the school uniform is about to be bought, the holiday already seems like a distant memory and there is a definite Autumnal chill in the air. For most of us, the last 6 weeks have been a crazy whirlwind, top marks for getting through it for another year. It’s almost time to put your feet up, pat yourself on the back and perhaps indulge in a little treat. What better way to treat yourself than a little style update from our new Autumn collection? Satchels officially left the classroom in favour of the catwalk in Spring/Summer and are set to stay popular throughout Autumn/Winter. We love them over at Tesco HQ, we’ve given them an A+ for combining preppy chic and being big enough for all of your handbag essentials.
At our pocket money prices, our gorgeous grey satchel is too good to miss. With great detailing like the clasp and buckles, it’s super versatile with a handle or a strap if you prefer to have your hands free.
F&F fold over bag – £12
Clothing at Tesco Loves… Rosie Scribble
By Rochelle Symons in Clothing at Tesco loves on Friday 20th August, 2010
Friday again, and this week we’ve been reading Rosie Scribble, a blog by single parent Rosie following her daily life raising daughter IJ. We found this blog particularly interesting because it doesn’t focus completely on parenting, with Rosie also presenting her opinions on any pieces of topical news that she finds interesting.
Rosie’s witty writing style makes her blog a really enjoyable read, and we liked that she was frank and honest with her opinions. Our favourite posts were dinosaur hunting in Manchester, yes you heard us right! Dinosaurs, and Even more addictive than Twitter, a hilarious post that reveals her slight obsession with Lego!
Check out her blog and get involved with the topics that she brings up, whether you agree with her opinions or not be part of the debate. If you are on Twitter, you can follow her too!

Taking you back to school – The competition winners
By Rochelle Symons in Back To School, News on Wednesday 18th August, 2010As you may know we have been running a competition on our Facebook page to win a lifetime supply of school uniform*.
We have had a great response and would like to thank everyone who has entered so far! You’ve given us quite a giggle in the office. But we don’t want to keep you in suspense any longer… the first two winners are:
Ellen Stafford

Ellen’s funniest story was: “Here is me aged 5, my first school photo. My memory comes from a little later in life when I was in my early teens. I was given an essay to do as homework from my science teacher on fungi. I hated science and wasn’t very good and to be honest I didn’t actually do my homework till the lunchtime before it was due in so I decided to be funny and instead of write about fungi….I wrote a list of all the fun guys I knew (I the boys I was hanging around with at the time) and why I thought they were fun. I got into a lot of trouble for it!”
Jo Kelly

Jo’s funniest story was: “My funniest (& slightly naughty) memory of school was; when I was 8 years old we’d moved house, thus resulting in a change of school. The thing is, the school colours were completely different, I wore a red summer dress in my old school & the new school was navy! My mum said it didn’t matter, there was plenty of wear left in the red one so I could continue to wear it until the summer was over!”
“Well, as you can imagine, it was the end of the world for me, I was mortified, I already stuck out like a sore thumb & was not impressed at all, so the next day I went into school & cut my summer dress right up the middle, with scissors, right from the bottom to the top!! It was completely ruined, job done, she’d have to get me a blue one now… Or NOT! Mum simply called my Nan & got her to sew it right up in the middle! So, I was stuck with the red dress for the rest of the year & now it was a seriously scruffy looking red dress, haha.”
Ellen Stafford & Jo Kelly congratulations, you have won a lifetimes supply of school uniform*! Please drop us an email, to claim your prize.
Don’t worry if you haven’t entered yet, you still have time, and here are the details of how you can get involved. Remember to take a look at our terms and conditions* before entering. Good luck!
Sneak peek – Tiger Blonde
By Ken Synnott in Behind the scenes on Tuesday 17th August, 2010Pssttt! We had a very exciting photoshoot last week and just had to share some of the behind the scenes pictures of our new exclusive brand. Tiger Blonde is the little sister of one of our favourite brands on the site – Liquorish. Slightly cheaper than it’s big sister label and edgier styling, we’re sure you will love Tiger Blonde as much as we do. Keep checking back for the launch date.

Wrap up for winter with our gorgeous new season coats
By Reena Rai in Womenswear on Monday 16th August, 2010If the dark clouds and heavy downpours taught us anything this week, it’s that we’re terribly unprepared for Autumnal weather. We already wrote about in between season dressing last week but a layering up won’t quite cut it against the wind and rain. Fine knit cardigans, floral dresses and tights are not adequate protection from the elements! Luckily, we’ve had lots of gorgeous new autumn clothing arrive on the site, including some very chic, classic coats to keep you warm and cosy over the coming months. Here are our top picks from the site:
F&F double breasted coat – £40. There’s nothing dull about this gorgeous grey jacket. The shiny buttons and military detailing are great on-trend touches.
F&F military jacket – £30. A short and chic military jacket, the embellished shoulders add a glamourous edge.
F&F puff sleeve mac – £30. You can’t go wrong with a classic mac. Ours has been bought bang up to date with the rounded collar and puff sleeve detailing.
F&F funnel neck coat – £25. Brighten up your autumn with a pop of pink. This cosy coat has a funnel neck which is perfect for helping to keep you toasty through winter.
