It’s almost time for another bank holiday weekend, but before we dash off to don the maxis and strut outside to bask in the sun it’s time to share another of our favourite blogs.
This week it’s Fashion for Lunch, written by experts Adele, Lucy and Dana who combine their love for great style to bring us a down to earth and visually gorgeous look at the world of fashion.
Fashion for Lunch mixes affordable high-street with high-end designer coverage and we particularly love their ‘We Trial’ feature where the girls take it in turns to put the season’s latest trends and catwalk looks to the test! As well as the latest news, celeb fashion debate and top picks, these ladies can spot good style a mile away, with their selection of the most innovative LookBook fashionistas!
We’re always looking for fashion inspiration and these ladies certainly offer it in giant appliquéd bags! They even have a feature on iconic eyebrows – talk about attention to detail!
We loved seeing them at our F&F Autumn/Winter event, and by the looks of it they had a fabulous time too! Be sure to check them out.
Enjoy the long bank Holiday Weekend!

The great and the good of the fashion elite were out in force last night including some of the Clothing at Tesco team to celebrate the 5th birthday of Estethica, the ethical initiative of the British Fashion Council at the Central London venue, Almada last night.
We were there to show our continuing support for our ethical ranges by the likes of From Somewhere and GoodOne.
There were amazing installations from the likes of Junkie Styling, huge inflatable dogs from Christopher Raeburn and the new collabaration between Speedo and From Somewhere.
Fashion royalty and key exponents of all things ethical in attendance included The Telegraphs Hilary Alexander, Sarah Mower from Style.com and Suzanne Tide Frater of 19 Management.
So keep up with the cool set and check out our ethical ranges online.
We all know, from our own school days, that a PE Kit is probably one of the most easily ‘misplaced’ items by kids. Not only that, but it is also the one that gets the dirtiest! Luckily for you parents that are constantly replacing, we’ve created a special PE kit bundle at a shockingly low price!
For just £10, we’ve pulled together all the PE kit essentials needed for the school year. There’s a pack of each item included. For the girls, there’s the 2 pack of v-neck tees, 2 pairs of cycling shorts, socks and trainers. For the boys, it’s a 2 pack of crew neck tees with 2 pairs of shorts, socks and trainers. All of this for just £10 a bundle!
The offer is only available until 7th June 2011, so snap it up quickly whilst stocks last.
Friday again, and time for us to pass some love over to our favourite blog of the week! This week we’ve been reading LLYMLRS, written by fabulous blogger Lily, who we had the pleasure of meeting recently at our A/W11 Press Day!
We love Lily’s knack for classic style, and all of her outfits are right on trend and really well thought out. She’s definitely a girl with a love for dresses and she can pull off almost any style, from maxis to minis, and prints to pleats – you name it! She also uses colour like a pro – and we’ve completely fallen for the gorgeous neutral palette of this outfit!
We also really like Lily’s personable approach to her blog, and she always gives her readers a little snippet of her latest goings on – be sure to check out her ‘Sunday Portrait Week’ series of posts to keep up!
There’s heaps of outfit inspiration to choose from courtesy of Lily, so be sure to check her out especially with summer right around the corner…

It seems like summer has crept up on us, and now we’ve found ourselves nearer and nearer to one of our favourite times of the year… holiday season! And what’s more – with that exciting holiday in the pipeline, also comes the ever-important holiday wardrobe! It’s important to make sure you’ve got outfits not only for the occasion, but also for the location – so read on as we take a look at this summer’s hottest destinations and our recommendations on how to style them!
If you’re a sun seeker heading over to the beautiful shores of Tenerife, you’ll want an outfit that is both versatile and stylish! Prints are certainly on trend this season, and we think the Leaf print on this F&F Bikini top and brief set would look great lazing by the pool or on the beach. To wear over your bikini, we’ve chosen this jersey top from Brave Soul with a very summery braided back detail, and crisp white F&F turn up shorts. Complete the look with these classic retro sunglasses, for an on trend edgy style wherever you may be!
Chic is the word in Paris, and you can’t really go wrong with this fab F&F stripe dress. The one shoulder cut creates a striking look that is also very figure flattering, making it perfect for casual strolls around the City of Lights! We suggest wearing it with toned down items to round off the ‘Parisian Chic’ look, such as the bang-on-trend Espadrille wedges, and statement oversized sunglasses.
If you’re opting for a stay-cation this year and heading for a relaxing break at the lakes, stay stylish and comfortable with this lovely outfit! We love the Macrame detailing on this F&F vest top that is perfect for the great outdoors, and have teamed it with a pair of neutral coloured F&F Capri pants to balance out the bright print. Throw in a chic shopper bag that is roomy enough to fit all your essentials, as well as the all-important quilted Wellies, and you’re ready for any activity!
We’re completely over the moon at being nominated in the ‘Best Affordable Fashion’ category of the Lorraine High Street Fashion Awards 2011, and in five categories at the Prima High Street Fashion Awards including ‘High Street Retailer of the Year’, ‘Value for Money’, ‘Supermarket Range’, ‘Online Retailer’ and ‘Everyday Wear’!
It’s been a whirlwind year here at F&F, with highlights ranging from the introduction of the F&F Couture range, right through to our sponsorship of London Fashion Week and Mark Fast’s A/W collection! Growing our F&F Limited Edition and F&F Trend ranges have really helped us to provide you with styles that are bang on trend, and the arrival of new boutique brands such as Amy’s of Paris and 18 AND EAST mean there really is something for everyone!
However, this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our loyal fans, so please let me take this opportunity to thank you all! We value all the feedback that you’ve given us, and it has really helped us to progress as a fashion retailer. We love hearing from our fans, so please don’t forget you can always get in contact with us through Facebook, Twitter or leaving a comment below!
But now we need your vote! If F&F has become your first stop for affordable fashion, please take a few moments to vote for us at www.itv.com/lorraine and http://bit.ly/gvCVmI to help us on our way to this fabulous award!
Thank you all again, and happy shopping!
Possibly one of the biggest highlights of the year for the Hollywood A-list, the prestigious Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, and all the biggest names in film have made a break for the sunny shores of France! Of course, Cannes wouldn’t be complete without the glitz, glamour, premieres, and parties… and the celebs have certainly pulled out all the stops this year!
Even though we’ve spent most of the day drooling over some of the fab outfits, we just can’t get over Alexa Chung’s stunning dress at the Sleeping Beauty premiere. The style icon looked a vision in an elegant but show-stopping white Balenciaga number, paired with black heels and beautiful Chopard necklace. We loved the gorgeous volume to the dress especially, creating a look that was both simple and sophisticated – in true Alexa style!
If you’d like to recreate Alexa’s red carpet style, we’ve found the perfect alternative for that dressy occasion. This lovely F&F Fit and Flare Dress features the same fitted waist and full pleated skirt, to help you achieve that all important head-turning moment! To complete the look, we’ve teamed it with this contrast clutch bag, trusty black platform heels, and statement TIA by Made Tunda pendant.
We had a brilliant time this week at our F&F Autumn/Winter 2011 Press Day, and it was a great excuse to meet and catch up with some of our favourite (and fabulously stylish) bloggers! We met the lovely Susie at the event, and ever since we’ve been hooked on her gorgeous blog, Take-out in Couture!
Susie certainly knows her stuff when it comes to her personal style, and she has an eye for picking out outfits that are bang on trend, whilst being completely wearable. She’s not afraid of a bit of colour, and likes to add splashes of brightness into her outfit when she can – just take a look at this lovely colour blocking outfit, which we think would be perfect for a summer day in the office!
Not simply stopping at her own style, Susie also likes to keep a constant eye out for great fashion inspiration wherever she goes! We just can’t get enough of her street style posts – especially the effortless style of this adorable couple, and the ‘throw-it-on’ look that these bunch of cool kids have down to a tee.
Be sure to check out Susie’s blog if you’re at a loss for style creativity, and don’t forget to check out her gorgeous photos of our Press Day!
