7 Days of Summer: Prints Charming

By Gemma Conley-Smith in 7 Days of Summer, Competitions on Tuesday 14th May, 2013

It’s the final day of our 7 Days of Summer style challenge, and today’s theme is prints.  I’m keeping it simple here with 3 print dresses I’m currently coveting, which are going to work beautifully on their own if summer ever arrives but can also be layered up with (delete as appropriate) tights/a denim jacket/a scarf/a cardi.

We’ve had SO much fun seeing all the different ways F&F fans have interpreted our different trends.  If you’re quick, you can still enter for today, (check out all the how to details below) and don’t forget to head over to What I Wore Today if you’d like to have a peek at, well, what the style challenge entrants have been wearing over the last 7 days.

Ikat print midi dress: £15   Scarf print halter maxi dress: £35   Aztec print midi dress: £15

7 Days Of Summer – 60s

By Gemma Conley-Smith in 7 Days of Summer, Competitions on Saturday 11th May, 2013

Happy Style Saturday everyone!
Today’s theme is 60s… and although on first glance it may seem the scariest of our 7 days of Summer challenge, there are actually lots of ways to wear a 60s inspired look – we’re already seeing a few of you tweeting and facebooking us with your take on 60s!

I think lots of us immediately associate the 60s with knee high platform boots and the micro mini – which is great if that’s what what works for you.  Personally though, I like a softer 60s influence, like the espadrilles in outfit one (and the cardigan worn off the shoulders Audrey Hepburn style) and the tucked in blouse in outfit two, where long socks (worn pulled up over the knees)  combat the short mini skirt.

60s Lace shirt dress: £22,  Oversized sunglasses: £5,  Striped Espadrilles: £15,  Cropped cardi: £8

Knee high opaques: 3 pairs for £2.75, Limited Edition Red A-line mini: £22, Moda in Pelle 2 tone loafer flats: £49.95, Polka dot shirt: £14

If you’re in a hurry or need more inspiration, dark kohl rimmed eyes, thick fringes and touches of crochet detail all help to add a 60s twist to an outfit.

Don’t forget though, whether you’re wearing 60s taking cues from the glamorous Liz Hurley in Austin Powers or boyfriend style a la Jane Birkin with trousers and suspenders, that the 60s trend is all about HAVING FUN.

Don’t forget to tweet us or facebook us – we LOVE seeing what you’re wearing.  See below for more on how to enter and terms and conditions.

Have a swinging 60s weekend!
Love,

Gemma

ps.  We’ve had a couple of male competitors (head to WIWT to see them) and I’m crossing my fingers for some Mad Men inspired looks today.

Striking Stripes!

By Hannah Thomas in 7 Days of Summer, Competitions on Wednesday 8th May, 2013

You may well have seen that today we launched our 7 Days of Summer competition across Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest to celebrate your eye for fashion!

Each day we’ll be focusing on a hot trend and asking you how you ‘rock it’. Today the trend in question is ‘Stripes’ …

I for one can get a little scared about wearing stripes due the accusation that they make you look bigger. However, you’re all proving that this is definitely some sort of myth because after taking a look at your pics that have been uploaded so far in the Facebook app gallery, you’re truly showing how you sport those stripes in style!

I’ve made a pact to purchase some ‘stripey’ items for my wardrobe and thought I’d share with you my top picks from the F&F website

So, feeling inspired to enter? See below all the different that you can get involved!

Win your summer read with your summer wardrobe!

By Gemma Conley-Smith in Competitions, Get the look on Tuesday 7th May, 2013

It’s no secret here at F&F HQ that I am an incurable bookworm. That’s why I am supremely excited about our current online promotion.  You see, the one thing I look forward to most in the summer, once I’ve got my warm weather wardrobe sorted, is relaxing with a cracking holiday read.

In order to help you get your summer wardrobe AND your summer reading sorted in one easy step, we’ve teamed up with the lovely people at Headline publishing, and we’ll be giving away copies of Private Lives by Sunday Times bestselling author Tasmina Perry as a gift when you buy an item from our list of top holiday picks.

The novel centres around a young lawyer called Anna Kennedy who is drawn into an ‘intoxicating world where games are played to mask the truth, where there is no one you can trust, and where being too good at your job can put your life in danger.’

To tie in with the glam vibe of a Tasmina Perry novel, my two top picks are below, but be sure to hop over to our website to see the full holiday collection: from a list including sunglasses, summer dresses, sandals, swimsuits, shorts, kaftans and bags, you’re bound to find something you love.

The gold accents on these gladiator sandals and cutout swimsuit are perfect for a ‘blockbuster luxe’ look…

So what are you waiting for? With a curated list of perfect holiday pieces AND a fantastic new Tasmina Perry novel for free – we’ve done all the holiday hard work for you! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to read Private Lives on my lunchbreak.
Love,

Gemma x

F&F 7 Days of Summer

It’s 8.30am on a Monday morning. You have a big meeting at work and then a lunch date with a friend. You’re standing in front of a wardrobe full of clothes… and yet you have absolutely nothing to wear!

We’ve all been there – everyone gets stuck in a style rut sometimes, but what we love about summer fashion is that it’s a perfect opportunity to stop hiding underneath coats and cardigans and try out something new. This summer, we’re challenging you to revitalise your wardrobe with seven days of style challenges designed to help you experiment with trends and breathe some life into your wardrobe.

Starting tomorrow, we’re picking a different summer trend each day and asking you to work it into your everyday look. Send us a photo and show us how you’re wearing it, and we’ll be rewarding our favourite looks every day with a £75 F&F voucher!

Take the challenge every day and you’ll receive extra entries into our grand prize draw, where you could get rid of that “I have nothing to wear” demon for good this season with £500 to spend on a new summer wardrobe from F&F!

We can’t wait to see all of your fabulous outfits – here’s what we have coming up for you over the next seven days, along with details on all the different ways you can enter. Good luck fashionistas!

Step into Spring with a spree!

By Hannah Thomas in Competitions, Womenswear on Monday 11th March, 2013

***This competition is now closed and our winners names are below. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part!***Recently we’ve been getting ready for our amazing new season arrivals to mark the start of Spring.

The weather seems a little grey still but I think our wardrobes are a good place to start to get us in the mood, and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that it may take a little more than a shorter sleeve, lighter colour palette and a less red/more pink lippy to make me feel like we’ve officially entered Spring.

So, to celebrate the beginning of this beautiful season and to help put a spring back in your step, we’re offering five of our lovely Lifestyled readers the chance to win a £100 F&F online voucher to spruce up their wardrobe for Spring!

All you have to do is comment below and tell us your favourite thing about Spring! Yes, it’s that simple.

Make sure you enter your email address so we can contact you if you’re a winner (don’t worry, it won’t be displayed to anyone but us), and don’t worry if your comment doesn’t display right away, as it might get delayed by our moderation system. You have until 4pm on 18th March to enter – Good luck!

Full T’s and C’s can be seen here.

Clothing at Tesco Loves… #FFXmasStory 2012

By Hannah Thomas in Clothing at Tesco loves, Competitions on Sunday 23rd December, 2012

After seeing how much you all enjoyed last years Christmas story, we decided we just had to do it again this year! Making it bigger and better with more winners, we were thrilled to see all our F&F twitter fans getting into the festive spirit and helping us create a #FFXmasStory.

We began the story and asked our fans to tweet us with what happened next, including the hashtag #FFXmasStory. Whoever’s tweets got re-tweeted by us became part of the story and they won a £25 F&F voucher.

We loved all the entries and it has to be said it was hard to pick the winners at times! We think we ended up with a fantastic Christmas story that will be sure to keep you merry over the festive period.
