Behind the scenes at our Meet the Team shoot

By laurahenshaw in Behind the scenes, Meet the Team, SS13 on Thursday 11th April, 2013

We thought you might like to get to know our menswear and womenswear teams a little better so we arranged a Meet the Team photo shoot which took place yesterday at F&F HQ. The shoot included seven ladies and two gentlemen from our buying teams and took place in different locations around the office. Everyone loved getting their hair and make-up done by professionals (even the guys) and did their best to perfect their model faces while modelling our F&F and branded pieces. We took some sneaky behind the scenes pictures to get you excited for the main feature which will be appearing online in our Inspire Me section soon.

Look out for our Meet the Team feature soon!

In a tight spot?

By Gemma Conley-Smith in Get the look, Meet the Team, Top Picks, Trends, What We Wore on Wednesday 28th November, 2012

It’s that time of year again – you look out the window at 3pm and suddenly it’s dark, the office is chilly all week long, and by the end of the day you’ve had 6 gingerbread lattes.  In other words, winter is here.  If you’re anything like us here at F&F HQ, the first task of the day if you’re wearing a skirt is a rummage through your chest of drawers trying to find a pair of wearable tights – some that aren’t snarled and bobbly, some that will keep you warm, and maybe even a pair of tights to add an extra kick to your look.
Today, I thought I’d share our team’s top picks for tights and what to wear with them, and we’d love to hear yours!

Nicola’s pick: Nic has been rocking both leather and velvet skirts in the office recently, and she often goes for a mixed texture look by teaming her skirt with grey marl tights.  She adds warmth to her outfit with some tan heels, but this look would also work with these cool studded flats.  Teaming her skirt and textured tights with a soft knit jumper, Nicola is also obsessed with berets this season.

Tights outfit

Laura’s picks: Laura’s nickname within our team is ‘little one’ and very occasionally she’s mistaken for someone, well, younger than she is, which is why she’s loving peplum styles at the moment… still girly, but grown up.  She’s also a fan of geometric patterns, which is where these houndstooth tights come in.  Laura also loves teaming her trusty flared skirt with a patterned jumper and these checked tights are perfect for adding interest to that combo.

My picks: As I’m from Australia originally, I love embracing the British heritage look and pretending that I actually hail from these shores.  I’m also a big fan of all things floral, so I am in love with these flower print tights. I like to pair them with checks and tweeds, like this cute check duffle coat. I’m also eyeing off these statement Argyle tights, which would add a cool edge to a black outfit.  Finally, this adorable fox hat will add a quirky touch to my girly florals.

Susannah’s picks: Susannah, our boss, rocks a sophisticated style and more often than not you’ll find her in fashion forward tailored separates or a tunic and leggings, brought up to date with ankle boots and a colour pop scarf and topped off with her parka.
She’s been raving about fleece lined tights and thermal leggings – which look just as good as the regular kind but keep you uber warm.  Of course, the beauty of these is that you can wear them with socks and boots as well and they’re also great for layering for the outdoors in winter.

What are your  favourite tights for the winter? And how do you wear them? Can you pick the style of the girls in your office? Let us know in the comments!

These girls are going to be working hard to make the magic happen, and we couldn’t have been happier to bring them on board.

So, let’s introduce you to the Lifestyled ladies…

Joining the F&F Clothing team has allowed Laura to combine two of her passions: fashion and writing. She will be telling us all about the cutest kidswear and how you can work the newest F&F arrivals into your wardrobe.

Nicola has worked in fashion retail for a number of years and is now on board to uncover the latest street style trends and keep a close eye on what our favourite celebs are wearing!

I managed to rally some of the troops down at the Clothing at Tesco HQ to give you a sneak peek at what we’re wearing this Friday!

Stripes ahoy! Fi has paired a simple striped top with a pair of black jeans and fab tan boots which we love – a great comfy outfit for everyday!

Alice is wearing the grungy rock chic look today with a slouchy t-shirt, skinny jeans, and faithful boots! Her all black outfit is bang-on-trend and we especially love her silver jewellery to complete the look.

Who says you can’t stay warm AND on trend?! Deola has mixed up the classic t-shirt and jeans look with a pair of lovely tan knee-length boots, and a trusty snood – perfect for staying warm on a chilly winter’s day like today!
