The sun is shining brightly and cider is getting sipped in beer gardens all across the UK…we think that means that it’s about the right time to start talking about all things festival!
Here at F&F HQ, we wanted to do something a little different this year to celebrate our festival fashion lines for summer 2013, so we decided to team up with an up and coming artist to feature on the soundtrack of our festival edit – and who better to team up with than Eliza and the Bear!
For those of you who haven’t had the fortune of hearing their amazing music, they’re a five-piece Alt-Indie/Rock band from London.
The band formed in late 2011 and dreams of fame and fortune had long since passed for Kellegher, keyboard player Callie Noakes, guitarist Martin Dukelow, bassist Chris Brand and drummer Paul Kevin Jackson.
Getting together in a practice room, having some laughs and writing great songs were the only real concerns for the five young men, nothing else was ever discussed.
In 2012 the band recorded a demo in Paul’s front room, it was posted online and made available to any friends who were curious to hear what they had been doing behind closed doors. There was no promotion, no hype and no supporting dates. Yet despite the band’s distinctly casual approach, the reaction to the dreamy and euphoric slice of indie-rock was anything but. “The response was overwhelmingly positive,” James recalls. “We were getting reviews, being talked about and contacted by industry people, it blew our mind and definitely kick-started our ambition again.”
The band, who are currently unsigned, will be playing at several festivals this summer (The Secret Garden Party and LeeFest to name a few!)
So, if you’re heading to a festival this summer then this vid, featuring their latest creation ‘Upon the North’ may well get you in the mood (it will also hopefully inspire your wardrobe choices for the big event!)
Head to our Inspire Me page to find out more about the band and to view the F&F Festival Edit and if you are looking for a festival to head to this summer, definitely keep an eye out for where these are going.
