The Skinny fit
Monday 9th September 13
Today I’m wearing my skinny jeans- what a surprise!
Skinny jeans are my absolute staple item, the style of jeans that dominates my wardrobe, and my go-to trousers when I have no idea what to wear.
Hugely popular with celebrities such as Sienna miller and Cameron Diaz, the skinny jeans trend has truly stood the test of time and is not going anywhere anytime soon. Contrary to their name, skinny jeans can be a flattering fit, it’s all about choosing the right colour, print and style. Even men are rocking the trend!
What I love most about skinny jeans are their versatility. Worn with a pair of trainers and a loose t-shirt they create a casual yet cool look. A pair of black skinny jeans that look sophisticated tucked into a pair of leather boots in the winter can look equally chic with a dainty pair of flats or sandals in the warmer months.
For me, skinny jeans are a safe style that is constantly evolving and giving me new wardrobe options with updated colours, prints, materials and waist styles emerging each season.
Love them or loathe them, the skinny jean is a staple item that is here to stay!
The Boyfriend Jeans
Tuesday 10th September 13
Today I don’t feel like getting too glammed up so it feels like a boyfriend jeans kind of day.
I’m a big fan of the boyfriend jeans and take inspiration from stylish celebrities such as Rachel Bilson and Katie Holmes. Not only are boyfriend jeans super stylish and look great with a range of tops, shoes and accessories, they are very comfortable and you don’t have to worry about them losing their shape. As they’re a very flattering style of jeans, they’re perfect for days when you’re seeking a more casual, relaxed and comfortable look.
The boyfriend jeans sit low on the hips and are worn slightly baggy; the idea is that they look like you borrowed them off your boyfriend! They’re very on-trend and create a look that is easy to take from day to night. Add a stiletto heel for a more feminine look.
How to wear it
Wednesday 11th September 13
Although jeans are my go-to item both during the week and at weekends, finding the right items to put with a pair of jeans can make or break a look.
A night out on the tiles
Skinny jeans are the obvious choice for a night out. Flattering, figure hugging and easy to wear with a range of high heels, the skinny jeans are my usual Saturday night style. This look is perfect for a night out on the town with the girls or work drinks. A sparkly clutch bag adds a touch of glamour to this sophisticated look.

This month I am all about experimenting with my denim so I have been looking for ways to create a great glamorous night out style using the boyfriend jeans. A statement print handbag and stiletto heels bring a feminine edge to the boyfriend jeans. What items would you team with a pair of boyfriend jeans for a sophisticated look?

A casual Saturday with friends
The skinny fit is very versatile and can be worn with most shoe styles. I like to team my skinnies with a pair of trainers at the weekend for a comfortable yet stylish look. Wedge trainers and a checked shirt are the perfect additions to keep your casual look bang on trend.

The boyfriend jeans can also be styled to create a super trendy casual look that is very comfortable and easy to take from day to night with a pair of high heels. This laid back look is perfect for travelling or walks in the park at the weekend.

Finding the perfect pair of jeans
Thursday 12th September 13
Although jeans are a staple wardrobe item for most people, they can also be the hardest item of clothing to shop for and knowing what style suits you can be difficult. Choosing a pair of jeans is hugely personal and many of us stick to the same style and cut.
Like Lauren Conrad, I have a terrible habit of sticking to the same style and cut and rarely take advantage of new trends in denim as deciding on a new fit can be overwhelming. I’ve put together a short summary of the key elements to look out for in a fit when buying a great pair of jeans.
The denim guide:
Skinny jeans have a slim leg all the way to the ankle and look equally great tucked into boots, worn with flats or dressed up with heels. The skinny fit is great for creating curves.
With a fitted waist through the leg and flared ends, the bootcut fit is very flattering on all body shapes and look great with heels and trainers. These are particularly good for balancing out wider hips and a great style for curvier figures. Try a pair in dark denim or black for a super flattering finish.
A classic look, this fit has a straight leg from hip to hem and is highly versatile. This style is flattering on most body types and can help lengthen your legs.
A relaxed fit worn slightly baggy and sitting low on the hips, the boyfriend jeans are the hottest new denim trend.
