Glitz and glamour took over Hollywood on Sunday night, as the annual road to the Oscars kicked off for another year with the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in LA. And we’re doubly excited as the Globes mark the official start to red carpet season!
It’s almost a requirement that anyone walking the red carpet has to pull out all the stops, and the A-list certainly didn’t fail to disappoint! It was a night of dramatic full-length dresses, bold vibrant colours, and heavy textured fabrics that had us captivated from the get go!
Here are our top three outfits from the night…
Anne adds a dazzling pink edge to traditional glamour with this backless Armani Prive number. The big structured shoulders and long sleeves coupled with the all over sparkle make this a definite showstopper.
Emma Stone walked the red carpet in understated elegance with this minimal Calvin Klein floor length dress. The neutral colour really accentuated the dress’ simplicity, and our F&F Ponte Dress is the perfect piece to adopt this effortless style.
We’re practically green with envy with how great this sweeping Atalier Versace gown looks on Angelina Jolie. The overall look of the dress is more grown up and sophisticated, whilst the long sleeves and backless detail keep it right on trend.
Just in time for the start of London Fashion Week, we bring you The Bottom of the Ironing Basket, a blog written by a very chic mummy called Simone, who writes about her love of fashion along with tidbits from her life as a full time parent – or ‘Chairman of the Board and Household Executive’ as she likes to be formally called.
Simone certainly has a knack for choosing the best of the latest trends, and keeps a keen eye on celebrity fashion. Be sure to check out Friday Fabulousness, where she expresses her heart-warming feelings about her youngest child starting his first day at school, and Wordless Wednesday, a simple post containing her selection of some beautiful and inspiring photography.
We really enjoyed the creative aspects of Simone’s blog, and all her posts contain things that we can all take inspiration from.
Have a great weekend!
As a saucy member of Desperate Housewives, you may know her as Gabby Solis, but she is also a well known member of the fash pack, with a great sense of style.
Here, she is the picture of laid back chic. Combining everyday jeans with a casual jumper, she adds the “wow” factor by finishing off her outfit with a pair of killer bright pink statement heels.
Want to get her look? Well here is how you can steal her style, without having to rob a bank…
So if there is one thing to learn from Eva, it’s that a statement pair of heels can transform an outfit, whether it’s casual or smart. So go on, invest in a pair, we have loads to choose from on the site. And remember, there’s free delivery all this week….
