This coming weekend (as I am sure you know) is a long one. It’s the weekend where we get to celebrate May Day, which to a lot of people, means one thing… Morris dancing, yes dig out those ‘belled’ shoes!
Hmm ok not for everyone? If you are looking for something a little different this year, what about some of these fabulous events happening around the country:
A truly magical event is taking place in London this weekend, with Kensington Palace being transformed into an Enchanted Palace by a theatre company in collaboration with fashion legends Vivienne Westwood, William Tempest and Stephen Jones. It centres around the theme of 7 princesses, all of whom have lived there. A fantastic mix of history and fairytale, this is a must-see.
If you fancy a trip to the coast, why not pop down to the Brighton Festival? Starting this Saturday, and running for most of the month, it’s a great event for the whole family. With both outdoor and indoor events, as well as theatre shows, exhibitions and movie screenings, this really is an entertaining and educational way to spend the weekend.
If you looking for something up North this bank holiday, there is a family fun weekend happening at Bury street railway station in Manchester. Over the weekend there will be a host of events including a magician, a circus workshop and of course lots of steam trains. Which is sure to be a great family day out!
There are loads of events happening all over the UK this weekend, what have you got planned? Will you be celebrating in a more traditional style? Will you be hanging out with your family? Will you be partying the weekend away? Do let us know…
