Clothing at Tesco loves… Not So Serious Fashion

Not So Serious Fashion

Hello and happy Friday to all our fab LifeStyled readers! Here are just a few things that have made us smile this week: the sun peeping his sleepy head from beneath the clouds, payday and following our favourite blogger this week: Not So Serious Fashion!

Gemma’s knack for on-trend affordable fashion for the plus size lady is spot on! We love how she gives a feminine outfit some oomph by layering a chunky knit over a floaty dress, and teams it with a chic biker jacket and opaques. We also particularly enjoy how she’s given an embellished headband another lease of life as a necklace!

Gemma’s blog blends fashion and accessory tips and finds, from high-street to thrift store, along with an infectiously bubbly personality, so be sure to check her out!

Have a happy weekend everyone! x

P.S. We’re craving the coconut macaroons she made. YUM!

Clothing at Tesco Loves… Strutt

Strutt

Happy Friday everyone, it’s that wonderful time of the week where we can wind down and share one of our favourite fashion blogs with you! This week, we thought we’d point you in the direction of a little gem of called Strutt, written by Fashion Design graduate Charlene.

Charlene has an unmistakable passion for vintage clothing, as well as having a great eye for what’s hot – and what’s not! Her personal style is fab and she embraces the 60’s look with a touch of modern charm. We particularly like her outfit in her recent post Lace & Faux Fur, with faux fur being bang-on-trend this winter, and perfect for keeping you toasty even on those blisteringly cold days.

One of the things we particularly love about her outfit choices is her extensive hat collection – especially this one, which looks just right with the gorgeous velvet dress, giving it that slightly rocky look.

So whether it’s faux fur or animal print, Charlene’s blog is definitely one to watch, Don’t forget to follow her on Twitter to get the latest updates!

Yay! It’s Friday and that means it’s time to get comfy, settle down and check out one of our favourite blogs of the week. This week we’ve been adoring the vintage styling by Rosie Blake on her rather lovely blog: Rosie Glow.

Rosie is a creative at heart and loves all things to do with fashion, art and music, which really shines through with her gorgeous outfits. Even though it’s getting colder we have been lusting over this pleated mini outfit! It’s a fab feminine twist on a masculine bowler hat and we love how the colour of the necklace really pops against her amazingly cute orange skirt.

She also certainly isn’t afraid to mix things up, just take a look at the way she pulls of these great Clothing at Tesco leopard print shoes- fantastic!

Be sure to add Rosie’s blog to your reading list as it’s a great place to head for inspiration, and we’ll definitely be taking note of a few handy tips.

Oh and don’t forget to follow her on Twitter!

Have a great weekend!

Fashion Train

The weather may have taken a turn for the worst, but with such great style inspiration about in the blogosphere, it’s hard to let it put a dampener on your day! This week we’ve been reading Fashion Train, a gorgeous blog written by Becca.

She’s definitely a girl who’s clued up about fashion, and always has a handy tip or recommendation up her sleeve! We’re currently loving her ‘How to wear’ features, as she runs through various outfit suggestions to help you make the most of this season’s key trends. Be sure to check out how she works a fab pair of Ankle Boots into three great looks, and the various different ways you can wear a Multi-Tie!

Also, with festival season just around the corner and so many of you thinking about the all-important wardrobe, check out her ‘Festival Fashion Week’ posts featuring her must have items. We found her guide to the best Hair & Beauty products especially handy, to avoid any mishaps whilst enjoying your favourite bands!

Take-out in Couture

We had a brilliant time this week at our F&F Autumn/Winter 2011 Press Day, and it was a great excuse to meet and catch up with some of our favourite (and fabulously stylish) bloggers! We met the lovely Susie at the event, and ever since we’ve been hooked on her gorgeous blog, Take-out in Couture!

Susie certainly knows her stuff when it comes to her personal style, and she has an eye for picking out outfits that are bang on trend, whilst being completely wearable. She’s not afraid of a bit of colour, and likes to add splashes of brightness into her outfit when she can – just take a look at this lovely colour blocking outfit, which we think would be perfect for a summer day in the office!

Not simply stopping at her own style, Susie also likes to keep a constant eye out for great fashion inspiration wherever she goes! We just can’t get enough of her street style posts – especially the effortless style of this adorable couple, and the ‘throw-it-on’ look that these bunch of cool kids have down to a tee.

Be sure to check out Susie’s blog if you’re at a loss for style creativity, and don’t forget to check out her gorgeous photos of our Press Day!

Our Royal Wedding Look-a-likes Part 2!

By Ken Synnott in Competitions, Get the look on Thursday 5th May, 2011

We received some brilliant entries last week’s Royal Wedding outfit look-a-like Twitter competition, and it certainly seems like a fair few of you have quite an eye for style! We announced the first five winners in yesterday’s blog post, and now it’s time to reveal the next five look-a-like outfit winners – read on to find out who pick what…

Kitty Spencer

This F&F Limited Edition Seamed Tailored Ponte Dress features a similar plunging neckline and figure-hugging shape to Lady Kitty Spencer’s flesh coloured Victoria Beckham dress – thanks to @Gemx for sending this to us!

The Queen

Her Majesty looked positively radiant in a bright yellow Angela Kelly crepe wool dress, and this F&F Waffle Knit Dress submitted by @julescomps is equally as vibrant, with a very chic cut to match.

Bridesmaids

Of course, no wedding would be complete without the bridesmaids to accompany the bride, and they looked absolutely adorable in handmade dresses designed by Nicki Macfarlane. @keengirl seems to have found a gorgeous match with the F&F Corsage Sash Bridesmaid Dress, which features the same classic shape and detailing at the waist.

Tara Palmer Tompkinson

Tara Palmer Tompkinson certainly didn’t fail to turn heads when she arrived at Westminster Abbey, wearing an eye catching electric blue dress by Deborah Milner. If you’d like a dress that is equally as show stopping, this Diva Side Zip Dress will give you the same curve hugging effect.

Prince Harry

It seems that a few of you were not only style spotting the ladies at the Royal Wedding, but the gents too! @GIRLYOUGOTSTYLE suggested that the F&F Limited Edition Military Coat was a great female version of Prince Harry’s cavalry uniform, for those of you looking for an outfit with a bit of edge!

Congratulations again to all of our Royal Wedding outfit look-a-like winners!

Our Royal Wedding Look-a-likes!

By Ken Synnott in Competitions, Get the look on Wednesday 4th May, 2011

We weren’t surprised to see each of the Royal Wedding guests pull out all the stops last Friday, and everyone was certainly dressed to the nines! From the sharp tuxes, dramatic draped fabrics, and stunning tailored cuts, we had a brilliant time style spotting them all!

It also seems like a lot of you had your eyes on the outfits too, as we received some brilliant entries in our Royal Wedding outfit look-a-like competition on our Twitter page! We simply asked all of our followers to pick a guest’s outfit from the wedding and send us a look-a-like item from the Clothing at Tesco range, for their chance to win that item.

It was particularly difficult to choose, but after much deliberation, we managed to whittle them down to ten winners. Check out the first five winners below, and stay tuned as we reveal the next five winners on the blog tomorrow!

Joss wore this very vibrant pink shift dress from Hobbs, and @KJaybaby1 rightly pointed out the similarities with the 18 And East Strappy Back Dress, which has the same fabulously bright colour and fitted cut.

Frances Osborne

We loved the simplicity of Frances Osborne’s grey fitted dress, and this F&F Limited Edition Knitted Dress features the same long sleeves and block colour – thanks to @Welshbybirth for sending us this one.

Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice’s outfit might be remembered more for the Philip Treacy hat, but the nude coloured Valentino couture coat she wore was simply stunning. We loved this entry from @kazautomatic who suggested that she could have actually been wearing the Angel Eye Ruffle Neckline Belted Dress underneath!

Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton’s bridesmaid dress designed by Sarah Burton has already captivated millions worldwide, and this Ichi Cowl Neck Dress sent to us by @b_fly77, features similar capped sleeves and the gorgeous cowl neck. Also, check out how we would style it here!

Victoria Beckham

We all expected Victoria Beckham to make a memorable appearance, and her midnight blue draped number from her own label certainly made an impact. @becksell2001 thinks that the gorgeous Amys Of Paris One Shoulder Dress makes it a great alternative – and we have to say we agree!

Remember to check back tomorrow, as we’ll be revealing the next five winners in a blog post! But if you had the choice, what would you have worn to the Royal Wedding?
