Step into Spring with a spree!

By Hannah Thomas in Competitions, Womenswear on Monday 11th March, 2013

***This competition is now closed and our winners names are below. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part!***Recently we’ve been getting ready for our amazing new season arrivals to mark the start of Spring.

The weather seems a little grey still but I think our wardrobes are a good place to start to get us in the mood, and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that it may take a little more than a shorter sleeve, lighter colour palette and a less red/more pink lippy to make me feel like we’ve officially entered Spring.

So, to celebrate the beginning of this beautiful season and to help put a spring back in your step, we’re offering five of our lovely Lifestyled readers the chance to win a £100 F&F online voucher to spruce up their wardrobe for Spring!

All you have to do is comment below and tell us your favourite thing about Spring! Yes, it’s that simple.

Make sure you enter your email address so we can contact you if you’re a winner (don’t worry, it won’t be displayed to anyone but us), and don’t worry if your comment doesn’t display right away, as it might get delayed by our moderation system. You have until 4pm on 18th March to enter – Good luck!

Full T’s and C’s can be seen here.

***The competition is now closed***

How to Wear the New Flare

By Ken Synnott in Get the look, Trends on Monday 11th April, 2011

Work your flair for fashion with one of this season’s key trends – flares! They’ve been seen all over the catwalks and are set to be a big hit in spring and summer thanks to their leg-lengthening loveliness. There’s a flare for every shape and style, whether you want to keep it simple with a subtle bootcut or go the whole way and embrace this retro 70s trend.

The great thing is that this trend is really easy to wear, and can take you right through from dropping the kids at school to cocktails with the girls on a Friday night. We’ve put together some looks to show you just how simple it can be to stay stylish without spending a fortune!

That's So Yesterday

We can’t quite believe it’s March already, but with style inspiration like this, we’re fully embracing the spring season! This week, we’ve been reading That’s So Yesterday, by self confessed Lady Gaga and Ebay addict Laura.

She shares our love for bold prints, and she certainly isn’t afraid of a splash of colour! But don’t take our word for it, see for yourself as she completely works this printed scarf and jacket combo, as well as this eye-catching hot pink lipstick!

We also love that she doesn’t keep all her style secrets to herself, often updating her blog with her latest nail art, and even has a guide to the new dip dyed hair trend!

So if your looking to inject a bit more colour into your spring wardrobe, be sure to check out Laura’s blog for a bit of inspiration!

If you’re on Twitter, you can follow her too!

Even though we saw lace gain significant popularity in the later seasons of last year, it’s certainly not had its day. However, it is now important to wear lace wisely, and the lace panelling on this dress give it a playful edge, whilst the full skirt takes inspiration from 60’s Mad Men era.

The Clog Revival

Spring Forecast

By Charlotte Hastings in News on Friday 21st January, 2011

With the new year well under way it’s time to start restocking our wardrobes for spring.

F&F TunicF&F Linen Blend Swing Jacket

F&F Tunic – £12, F&F Linen Blend Swing Jacket – £15

Rainbow colours are sure to cheer us up after another record breaking cold winter.  Wear a bright colour head to toe or clash them with some colour blocking.  This purple tunic will look great with bright tights and boots and I’ll wear the pink jacket  over a dress to work.

F&F JeansF&F Jeans

F&F Jeans – £16, F&F Jeans – £16

F&F Embellishment Jersey VestF&F Button Detail Boots

F&F Embellished Jersey Vest – £15, F&F Button Detail Boots – £20

Denim: we never tire of it and this season there’s a new style to try with gathered ankles for a sporty, luxe look.  Match them with a close fitting top so there isn’t too much volume and finish your look with an ankle boot.

F&F Limited Edition Dress

F&F Limited Edition Dress – £28

From Kate Middleton to TV’s Mad Men everyone’s looking very ladylike.  Tailored silhouettes, feminine blouses, delicate trims and pleats will keep you in the upper style class – this dress has it all.

It’s the new year and with it comes a whole new style.  Here are our favourite trends for Spring/Summer 2011.

1. Purple

A colour that suits everyone, this year it’ll be gracing our wardrobes in it’s many forms and shades, from pastels to Amethyst. MaxMara sent their models down the catwalk in head-to-toe purple.  Get the look with this gorgeous F&F Velvet puff sleeve dress. It’s on trend for 2011 and even better – it’s in our sale!

2.Biker jackets

It’s time to ditch the aviator and get a Harley! Burberry led the way at the S/S 2011 shows, and since then everyone from Kate Moss to Alexa Chung have revived this 80s classic.   Liquorice have designed a fantastic faux leather jacket, which is a snip at just £55!

3. The perfect trouser

Forget harems and pegs…its all about tapered trousers!  Taking the hottest trend of last year straight through to this, this lightweight and sophisticated look will see you out of your winter warmers all the way through to summer. Get the look with these F&F Trousers and team with heels or flat pumps for chic tailored style.

4. Leopard print

Be an animal in 2011! Just don the kitty print to bring out you inner vixen! Try this gorgeous F&F Limited Edition Leopard print top and pair with red nails for that purrrrfect look.

5. Satchels

Practical, chic and with enough room to fit all the essentials, satchels aren’t just for Back to School.  We love this compact Marc Jacobs number – it’s compact, classy and cool as a cucumber. Get the same style for a fraction of the price with our F&F Multi pocket satchel.

6. Camel

Versatile, warm, natural and a great alternative to grey. Keep those neutral hues and add colour as a statement.  While we wait for winter to melt away, this soft hue will warm up an outfit without overpowering it. We love this F&F jumper for its quirky shoulders which add dimension to a winter essential.

7. Make like Vicky B….

As seen in Grazia…gorgeous soft and warm cashmere jumpers. Our F&F Signature Cashmere jumper is made from 100% cashmere, has a super soft feel and is perfect for keeping warm in this season. So make like the Spicy one this season – they’re perfect for David or you.

8. The tux

The tux trend is in full swing with everyone from Kate Moss to Cher Lloyd and Lily Allen donning the fitted black number with everything from skin tight leggings, to wide-legged trousers or over short skirts and dresses.  It’s a clear winner whether you’re stepping out to do the weekly shop, or out to the swankiest restaurant in town.  Steal their style with our F&F Soft crepe Jacket.

9. 1970′s Stripy knits and maxi skirts

Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton…all fans of the Maxi which is seeing its biggest revival since the ‘70s.  Missoni leads the way with their stripy knits, and long, flowing romantic skirts.  Get the look with this F&F Maxi skirt which will see you float into summer like a pre-Raphaelite maiden.

10. Willow Smith Whip your hair….Jumpsuits and afros

If you haven’t seen that video clip or seen the blanket coverage of little miss Smith’s surprise hit, then you’re missing out on 5 minutes of the kind of entertainment only made by the offspring of huge Hollywood stars.  Little Willow Smith whipping her hair back and forth has become a huge internet hit, and now her ‘hair-style’ is making its mark on the fashion world.   We’re going crazy about jumpsuits and afros right now, not just because we want to whip our hair back and forth, but they also look fantastic with a clinch belt and heels.  Check out our gorgeous F&F wide leg jumpsuit for inspiration and get whipping!
